The Magic of Villa Agrimare and the Authentic Taste of Gargano
When we met Gino, we liked him right away. Not just for his wonderful ricottas and Gargano-style treccine, but above all because he is a true person—authentic, genuine, exactly as he appears.
This summer, he came to visit us, breaking the lull of our warm afternoons by the pool with something delicious and irresistible! With his passion and simplicity, he told us how his cheeses are made—from milking to our tables—in a direct and… (perhaps) clear way. Many of our guests got involved, trying their hand at creating cheeses in the most whimsical shapes or carefully following the ancient braiding techniques passed down through generations.
Gino’s small farm is located in Vieste, just 2 km from us. He has eight cows, two young bulls, and a few calves that roam freely across 30 hectares of unspoiled greenery within the Gargano National Park. Here, far from any source of pollution or disturbance, their milk retains all the fragrances and flavors of the Gargano land—a true sip of nature! For those interested, there’s also the opportunity to experience hand milking firsthand, right on his estate—a unique chance to connect with local tradition.
The goal of these gatherings is certainly not to sell cheese—though we always enjoy tasting it! 😉—but rather to share a piece of Puglian culture, made of flavors, stories, and togetherness. A heartfelt thank you to Gino and to everyone who joined us, laughing and chatting, and ending the evening with tarallucci, wine, olive oil, and, of course, cheese!

Actually at Villa Agrimare, the experience goes far beyond cheese! From time to time, we delight our guests with a freshly prepared, fragrant bruschetta, welcome a magician who enchants children with his tricks, or enjoy special evenings under the starry sky, between an outdoor movie and a shooting star streaking across the sky. Here, every moment becomes an opportunity to come together and embrace the magic of summer in its simplicity—because nothing else is needed to be truly happy.
